Vitamin E - The most effective fat-soluble antioxidant

Vitamin E - E Is For Every Body

Vitamin E is an essential nutrient that offers a variety of health benefits such as nutritionally supporting cardiovascular health and healthy blood vessels, while promoting circulatory function.** As the most effective fat-soluble antioxidant, Vitamin E helps promote metabolic functioning to fight against free radicals and oxidative stress.** Vitamin E helps maintain a healthy immune system, and has demonstrated a supportive effect on prostate health.**

Vitamin E is found in many food sources, such as wheat germ oil, nuts, seeds, egg yolks and peanut butter. Most people, however, do not get the recommended dietary allowance of Vitamin E (15 mg) from their diet alone, which is why supplementing with Vitamin E is important**.1

Vitamin E - Easing Oxidation Levels

The antioxidant effects of Vitamin E were tested by measuring levels of oxidative stress on the skin.2 Subjects received a supplement of carotenoids or the same supplement with additional Vitamin E. It was found that the addition of Vitamin E provided greater protection against oxidative stress of the skin than carotenoid-only supplements.

In a two-week study, subjects were given 400 IU of Vitamin E three times per day or a placebo for two weeks3. After this time period, they performed intensive exercise and then had their oxidation levels measured. It was found the Vitamin E decreased markers associated with oxidation, most likely by helping maintain muscle cells.

NOTE: There is still much research on Vitamin E, Vitamin E Oil and Vitamin E Creams. When choosing your Vitamin E supplements always look for high quality. Be sure to check the labels of your Vitamin E supplement for ingredients and warnings.
